AMEKO was founded in Copenhagen in 2004 by Mike Ameko Lippert.

Trusted strategic advisor with in-depth knowledge of global sustainability trends and with sound experience in translating societal agendas and cultural stories into transformative experiences. For nearly two decades, he has advised The City of Copenhagen on liveability and sustainability agendas and the unfolding of these agendas in various host city concepts. Furthermore, international project experience within both strategic and creative direction, nation branding and mega events.

One of his main achievements to date has been the development and implementation of the widely acclaimed Danish EXPO 2010 participation in Shanghai, with the Little Mermaid as its pivotal point. In 2017 Mike was appointed as co-curator for the Copenhagen Guest City participation at Bejing Design Week 2018. In 2018 Mike was appointed co-curator for the C40 World Mayors Summit 2019 host city program. From 2020-2023, Mike has helped The City of Copenhagen developing, planning and executing UNESCO World Capital of Architecture 2023.

From 2016-2023, Mike has been co-founding partner in Copenhagen based multidisciplinary creative collective andel, resident member of BLOXHUB. Since 2015, founding member of Klub, a membership club in Copenhagen, aiming to facilitate social interactions cross-industry. From 2014-2022, board member of N. Zahle’s School. He is a former member of The Danish National Building Association and advisory board member for Minor Change Group, Illumenarts Art Gallery, LARM Radio and 360 Develop Prize - a NGO initiative supporting the development of business ideas that promote the UN’s Millennium Development Goals.

Mike has an MA in Modern Culture & Cultural Communication.
